If profiles lived in a physical space that you could get to then you would be able to replace a profile without breaking references and creating a ton of rework. That is what we did in Inroads and it worked great. Now we are forced to use drawings spaces which have a high probability of needing to be replaced with design changes. This causes annotation to be lost and references to be broken.
