From rail companies in Switzerland we receive their rail alignment in form of an .xtr file. This file includes geometry, station, cant, construction and destruction phase and turnout information. Currently the import of an XTR-file in OpenRoads is not possible (the option doesn't appear).
We do understand that we need OpenRail Designer to modify rail data. However in many road projects we only need XTR as basic data, for example when we have to cross an existing railway. We import rail alignments to analyze if there is enough distance between the existing railway and our street project. The same thing happens with third-party rail projects.
In PowerCivil it is possible to import XTR-data and display it, but not modify it. This should be possible in OpenRoads as well.
