In OpenRoads Designer, applying a Z offset to a reference file only affects the display of geometry and does not modify the underlying element elevations.
In the model:
A 3D reference is attached and adjusted using a Z offset (-0.105 m) to correct elevation
The geometry appears at the corrected level in 3D and cross sections
However, when triangulating:
The resulting surface is generated at the original elevations, ignoring the applied Z offset
This causes a mismatch between Visual representation (corrected) and Triangulated result (original).
Improvements should be considered like Warning Message which Notify users during triangulation if referenced geometry with Z offset is included forExample:
"Referenced elements with Z offsets are used for triangulation using original elevations. Consider merging reference for accurate results."
