OpenSite Designer currently displays terrain contours as dynamic, rule-based graphics that remain associated with the terrain model. While this workflow is suitable during design development, some users require permanent contour graphics during drawing production for deliverables.

This enhancement request is to provide an option to generate permanent contour graphics when creating drawing models from terrain models, similar to the functionality previously available through GEOPAK's Load DTM Features tool. This would allow users to create contours as independent DGN elements with control over contour and label symbology, rather than relying on the limited capabilities of the current Extract Contours tool.

In addition, the current contour labeling workflow can produce undesirable results on complex contours. When using Label Terrain Contours, labels may be placed upside down, rotated in difficult-to-read orientations, or positioned in locations that negatively affect drawing presentation. Providing the ability to generate permanent contour graphics as part of Drawing Production would give users greater control over contour and label presentation, resulting in cleaner, more readable deliverables and reducing the manual effort required to correct contour annotation issues.
