Closed components in the template are currently saved as meshes when exported to, for example, DWG format, unless an additional manual operation has been performed beforehand to convert the meshes to solids.

I would like to have an option to perform the conversion to solids at the same time as exporting to the selected file format. It is important that the source DGN file is not modified, which is what the manual conversion to solids does.
