When I import features from graphics into a field book, the program does not set the correct level (match level) for most features. If we can get it to match the level correctly, it would save a lot of time. To take it a step further, it would be nice if it also set other properties based on the level.

Importing features from graphics should have an appropriate matching Survey Feature Definition.
From my experience with OpenRoads Designer, if the graphic element is set to the correct level of the feature and you import elements by right-clicking on your Field Book->Import->Features From Current Graphics, then the elements get matched to the Feature Code with that level and symbology is correct. If you right-click on All Linear Features under the Field Book and Add Graphic Linear Feature that way then they just come in as Default features without correct symbology.
