Implement Civil Accudraw for Dynamic Cross Section View

Similar to the plan and profile Civil Accudraw, it would be useful to have a tool to be able to view offset, elevation, and slope in the cross section interface. This is desired in the dynamic cross section view, where users could actively utilize the Civil Accudraw throughout the design process before XSC are cut.

If the intent is to measure or draw side slopes in the dynamic cross section view, there's current two ways to do it.

    1. Put more End Conditions in the corridor model. It is possible to have 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 6:1, etc. simultaneously solve. It's even possible for them to be on different Feature Definitions. This is super helpful in the early phase of design.

    2. Use normal AccuDraw to draw horizontal and vertical values if you do not have access to edit the corridor model.

The Cross Section Navigator utility icon will be available on the Corridors menu beginning with the 2022 Release 2 software.

In previous release, activate the Cross Section Navigator utility with the key-in geometry crosssection navigate.

The basic Cross Section Navigator utility can be expanded further to also include the drafting/data point functions by setting the configuration variable CIVIL_CROSSSECTION_NAVIGATOR_ENABLE_DRAFTING_TOOLS = TRUE

The drafting functions are useful in the Cross Section Navigator but it would good to also have access to these tools in individual drawing models. Sometimes we only need to use them in one particular cross section drawing model and simply opening this model is faster than using the navigator in this scenario.

Please get civil accudraw or cross section navigator to work in DYNAMIC cross section view. This is because:

    1. Many times in meetings when we’re sharing screen of our design showing cross section view, people ask what would 3:1, 4:1 look like…? Or, what is the existing ground slope? This is not possible to do quickly without the help of the mentioned tools. Also, its most likely not at an even station that you have created with the named boundary.

    2. You need to setup cross sections first by doing named boundary and have it inside the same file as your alignment. Why do this when cross sections view is already available.

    3. The dimension tool in when in Dynamic cross sections is a hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not measure the component I want. Also, that function is only available if you view cross sections by selecting your corridor (not alignment). Also, it only measures what your proposed template is doing. Many times we want to know what the existing ground slope is while you're in that view.

Getting us that tool would really benefit the designer or reviewer, and improve the ORD product.

This tool is needed for how we do what we do, bring it back.

Why are users even having to ask for this tool? Bring it back.

There is an ability to enable cross section Navigator, but that only works AFTER you cut the named boundaries. A lot of times we're designing while using dynamic cross sections and need to make adjustments to the template at a random uneven station. It would make sense to have civil accudraw work in cross section mode while designing.

Surprised we are having to ask for this. This should be implemented ASAP! Also, per Guest statement below: We need the ability to draw in any slope or any line starting at a certain elevation / offset.

Also able to draw in any slope you want or any line you want starting at a certain elevation/offset. Similar to the tools in cross section navigator in SS2
