Create 3D Automatically should inherit elevations from civil points if you draw a civil line and snap to the points

For detail grade areas it would be nice to place points in plan view and snap lines to those points. The lines would have annotation groups assigned to them to label the slope and distance between the points. Grades could then easily be tweaked by changing the elevation of the points. You would also have a nice 3D model as an output.

Clearly, you are a Civil 3D user. You can do that in Open Site, so long as you are working in 3D space. Having things assigned elevations in 2D space creates issues when you are trying to draw elements in 2D, but without realizing that you are actually creating elements in 3D with everything at the wrong elevations.
