For example I create a template for a given track section, and then copy this and update the point names for the next track. For this I need to go through each point and change just one aspect of the point name. Given itl files are just a text document can a "find and replace" function be added for efficiency gains? For example find point "TRK1" and replace with "TRK2", with settings either within a single template, or a range of templates added to a list.
I can see a similar use for a bulk updating of component and point styles. This could be done as a filter based on the component/point name. And done either as a single template or a range of templates.
