I need a closed linear survey element to populate the area in the element information. I'm wanting to create a civil label that will place the area of a closed shape. As far as I can tell, this will work except with survey elements.
I have a solution for you. See the screenshot. I'll file this as a bug and close the idea for voting since it is a bug fix and not a proposed solution. Again, thanks for bringing this to our attention!
I can only get to this menu. I cannot select the area property for the text favorite. It's available but not selectable. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
I'm confused. You said it exists for text favorites and item types. Can I grab the area of a closed survey linear element with a text favorite? If so, what field type do I need to use.
Can you tell me what Field Type and Field Sub Type to select in the Text Favorite Manager to access the correct area value. I've tried multiple ones, and none work so far with a closed linear survey element.

You are correct. It is visible in the Select Element dialogue but is not selectable.
