Try using Create Closed Mesh with the Element to Depth using Element Boundary method. The boundary element should be the corridor itself. Does that help?

And thank you for providing information!

I completely agree. The process outlined above seems like a lot of extra work that could be automatically limtied to the design limits. In my case, it is common to apply surface templates to existing pavement and driveways as unsuitable. Ususally they extend beyond the project limits. As project limits change, the amount of pavement/driveway removal may change. This sounds similar to the topsoil stripping Derricke mentioned. GEOPAK used to let you calculate removals only within constrution limits, even as limits changed due to design changes.

Current earthwork workflow using the Create Cut Fill Volume function, involving unsuitable removal doesn't automatically clip the volume of removed unsuitable within the design footprint.

Only the ‘Remove and Replace’ part of the resultant volume mesh is clipped (with split option active) which is limited to the under embankment areas. In order to calculate the ‘Removed’ part of the unsuitable volume - restricted only to cut sections within the footprint of design, the input mesh of existing unsuitable needs to be manually clipped in the first place. Unsuitable is typically used for modelling topsoil strip. The existing topsoil model typically extends outside the limit of design so that it covers all design changes as the project development progresses.

So it would be very useful to get this additional functionality with an option to restrict unsuitable removal to Design limits.
