Create corridor from reference feature

Our current standard workflow for roadway corridor modeling is to create a pavement corridor then a corridor for each end condition Rt and Lt. I have seen many others including some Bentley folks use this method. It would be big time saver to have a tool to "create a corridor from reference element" . This would work by first selecting the alignment the corridor is controlled from then selecting the reference element the corridor will attach to. This could be a linear feature from a corridor or a geometry element. The command would automatically create a point control from the point at the template origin both horizontal and vertical. This may work for other applications as well including custom ditches parallel to the mainline and wall alignments.

Point Control do work , but this enhancement would save a lot of time for users. Select the main alignment then select the reference feature for the template origin. I thought the "Ideas" forum was created for ideas to enhance the product?

Could you elaborate? How and why does Point Control and Corridor References not meet current business practices?
