There is a setting that can be turned on in Power InRoads V8i that keeps open a “results dialog box” that records all actions completed. It gives very basic information that we save as text file. The text is then imported into a Word document template we use for the purpose of reporting more details about how we calculated the coordinates such as what mythology was used and resources that were used.

This report is crucial to the work prepared in NDOT's Right-of-Way Services (RWSS) Section. It is the trail that would be necessary to show what methodology NDOT used to create boundaries which are often those associated with the bona-fide rights of property owners. In addition to creating the legal boundaries of rights owned by NDOT. This information is needed in the reviews of the work performed by staff, so reviewers can assure that sound practices were used, such as what control was used, and what methods were used. It shows if tools such as distance/distance or bearing distance were used, etc.
If there were ever a court-ordered requirement for NDOT to show how boundaries were created, this report could be used as evidence to show how the boundaries were determined.
NDOT RWSS has used these reports for decades, and they have proven to be invaluable in many instances.
I am in hopes an equivalent report can be generated in ORD.
