Create Top and Bottom Meshes for Surface Templates

Currently ORD will create a top mesh and bottom mesh when a template is assigned to a corridor. However, when a template is assigned to a design non-corridor terrain, no top or bottom meshes are created. Doing so would be very useful for viewing or compiling a unified finish grade terrain. If design the terrains you can create a unified FG with the "Create Terrain Model from Design Meshes", but if you have to import terrains from another file for your design, then this tool will not work. Having top and bottom meshes created when the template is applied would be great.

Could you elaborate on the specific problem you are trying to solve? If you are trying to create an ultimate surface, I'd recommend looking at Graphical Filters and Complex Terrains. There's some info on this in the 3d Intersection Modeling course at learn.bentley.com.
