If you have Element Templates (ET) separate from your Feature Definitions / Feature Symbologies, ORD will make a local copy of an ET if it is used in a Feature Symbology. If that ET is updated, you must delete the ET and copy in the updated version. Doing this will unassign it from all Feature Symbologies it was associated to, setting that field to (None). You must then go to the Feature Symbology and set the ET again.
It would be very helpful to have a way to copy/overwrite an Element Template without breaking the link to the Feature Symbology.

After updating the dgnlib, you can update all ET and OpenRoads standards using the project explorer. There is no need to delete it first. Please let me know if this helps.
