Bring back Active Chain Control or Similar Tool

In GeoPak, the Active Chain Control tool was very useful for selecting a particular chain or alignment and having the location information (station, offset, etc.) be display in a dialogue box. The location information would live track with the location of the cursor. This was very useful for getting quick information. I know there are tools in ORD to get similar information, but is annoying that you have to keep selecting an alignment in order to use the tools. It would be nice to have the functionality of the previous tool.

To be honest I haven't used Civil AccuDraw very much. I did just test something outs with Civil AccuDraw and there are some similarities to the Active Chain Control tool. The biggest difference I see is that Civil AccuDraw will only show location information when a tool is being used. The Active Chain Control tool will display location information with just the cursor. This ability is very useful when wanting to tentative to a point to get quick station and offset information. With the Civil AccuDraw tool you need to make sure you are using a tool before completing this process. I can't imagine that it would be that difficult to bring back a version of the Active Chain Control tool.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Active Chain Control tool. I understand that you found it useful in GeoPak, especially with its live tracking of location information.

Regarding ORD, could you provide more specifics about what you miss from the old tool? Any particular features or shortcuts that made your workflow smoother? Your detailed insights will help us better understand your needs and explore potential enhancements.

We currently have Civil AccuDraw that does what you are describing. What about it do you find lacking compared to Active Chain Control?
