Auto Create Event Points at Drainage Nodes

CTDOT would like the ability to create event points from Drainage Nodes. Many of our projects have a lot structures and manually adding event Points at each crossing is tedious. Projecting drainage on XSCs still does not work like we need it to, so we need to cut a cross section at each node. We need automation for this other that a manual input to Event Points.

    Hi Pedro,

Could you create a new idea for this, please? As you say, it could apply to any type of point element - drainage node, boring, street light, etc.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jonathan,

I've checked the video and the shipped funcition. I believe it's not exactly what this idea was aiming for..

You guys automated the placement of XCs at a defined named group elements station. This is actually the roundabout the owner of the idea was using. At least is automated now.

But, from what I understood and voted for, what it really wanted was for the nodes, boreholes and what ifs to be PREJECTED to the XCs intervals, not to create a bunch of new sporadic XCs.

In a scenario of stations with 20m interval, borehole at the station 1+15m (30m) would be projected to the 2+0m XCs. Better yet, to the two closest XCs. In this example, XCs 1+0 an 2+0.

The new tool just adds a new XCs at 1+15m. For organizations, deliverables and analysis purposes the idea aim is better.

the named group approuch is a good one! If it could be projected as I mentioned, the idea would trully be SHIPPED!

    Keep the good work.

Functionality for this workflow has been implemented in the 2024 release of the Civil products. The video uses borings to demonstrate it, but drainage nodes can also be used.

If multiple nodes could be selected at the same time within the corridor while creating an event point list that would certainly speed up the process.
